Match Official payment process Who organises my match officials?
It is the club's responsibility to organise their match officials, unless the league they play in automatically allocates them. In the event of a HOME fixture cancellation (either confirmed by their league or the AU), it is the responsibility of the club to cancel their match officials.
How do I register my match officials details with the AU?
All clubs who wish to claim expenses for their match officials (officiating, mileage or both) must send confirmation of the official’s name, full address, phone number, email address, cost of hire and the fixture they are umpiring, to email@example.com, no later than the day before the fixture is due to happen.
How do I collect my match official’s expenses?
Match official payments will be ready for collection from the AU Office from 11am, Wednesday morning onwards. Clubs should report to the Activities Helpdesk and need to sign on collection to confirm that they have taken the payment.

For all fixtures – clubs must get their officials to sign the receipt which accompanies their money, and clubs must return the receipt to the AU following the commencement of their fixture.
How do I get reimbursed for match official expenses, if a member of my team pays them?
This is not the preferred method to pay match officials, as clubs should follow the procedure outlined within this document, however in the event any team members have to pay officials the following procedure should be followed. • Pay the match official the amount owed and sign a receipt • Submit an AU or BUCS claim form (subject to whether or not it’s a BUCS fixture) to the AU office with the receipt • The AU will then reimburse you via bank transfer
Who pays for the expenses?
Payment for match officials for BUCS fixtures is funded by the AU’s BUCS budget.
Payment for match officials for non-BUCS fixtures should be funded by the club’s account.
Can students who officiate get paid?
The AU Finance policy states that if a student officiates a fixture, they can only be paid if they have been externally appointed through a NGB or regional appointments officer.
If a student officiates who has not been externally appointed, and the details of their appointment has not been given to the AU, they will not be eligible for payment.
